How to use LostaFound

Chat catch-up and matching-alert limits

  1. Open a chat with an accepted friend. An initially empty chat now catches up from the first unseen message in batches of 50, even if more than 50 arrive before polling. Latest messages shows the newest 50; Older messages provides retained history. The live display stays bounded to 100 messages. Invalid or mixed history cursors are rejected instead of silently showing a different page.
  2. Chat polling pauses and cancels pending reads when the page is hidden or left. Returning online or using browser Back resumes it without resubmitting a draft. Late canceled responses are ignored. A successful empty check clears a stale connection warning. Real loss of access still hides the compose form; sign in again or check friendship status. Blocking, removal and account restrictions are still enforced by the server.
  3. Matching alerts require a distance from 1 to 500 miles or kilometers; blank is not Any distance here. The default remains 25 miles. Up to ten active alerts are allowed per account, including simultaneous saves or reactivation of a disabled alert. Updating an existing active alert uses its existing slot. Stale sessions must sign in again. Existing alerts are not deleted or rewritten during this update. Website and Android/iPhone shared screens receive it on online reopen or Refresh.
